Hi
Two questions we need an answer to configure our Scout SDK package.

1. Question:

Which Eclipse Versions are supported by RAP 1.5?
We know that 1.5 is based on Eclipse Juno. But according to the dependencies of the RAP plugins it also works with e.g. Eclipse 3.6. Is this correct? Do you only test against Eclipse 3.8 but basically it should also work with older releases? Or do you know of any incompatibilities with Eclipse platforms older than 3.8?

2. Question:

When using the EPP Package for RAP Developers one can download and install a new RAP target from the Welcome screen. Then a complete target is downloaded from the update site. This is done even though some of the downloaded plugins are also available in the running platform (in the same version). Is there a technical reason why you don't use the running platform but download a complete target instead?

Thanks for any answer and greetings
Stephan

If I understand correctly, you want to combine the RAP runtime with a
different version of the non-RAP bundles in the target, such as eclipse
core, equinox, jetty, etc. right? This is not tested but should be
possible as long as the dependencies include these versions.

The tooling uses p2 functionality to install the target. AFAIK p2
maintains a bundle cache. I think it should reuse available bundles if
the ids and versions match exactly. If you find that this is the case,
but bundles are downloaded anyway, you could open an enhancement request
and we can check with p2 if this can be improved.

Regards, Ralf
