Hi there,
I've just installed VE with Eclipse, and while the install seemed to go =
fine (I have the appropriate versions of EMF and GEF) when I create a =
new VisualClass, my palette is empty.
So I did an "eclipse -clean" and I get these on startup in the Error Log =
pane:

Can anyone shed any light on the issue? Any help would be appreciated.

We may need to clear some cache sitting around.
Do this:
1) Open a VE, close it.
2) Select Project->Clean...->Clean All
3) Wait for build to complete
4) Close and reopen the project
5) Open the VE, see if it now works.

To install, I recommend using the update manager. That way it will pick
up the correct stuff.
I recommend installing Eclipse 3.1 SDK, then use the update manager to
find new features, and select the VE 1.1.0 feature, hit the "Select
required" button, then install VE 1.1.0.
After VE 1.1.0 is installed then use the update manager to scan for
updates of the VE. It will find the new just released VE 1.1.0.1 driver.
By doing this you know all is correctly installed.

ARGH.......so things appear to be much better (if I go by the error log),
however I still have the same symptom. An empty palette and the following
exception when creating a new Visual Class:
java.lang.NullPointerException

We may need to clear some cache sitting around.
Do this:
1) Open a VE, close it.
2) Select Project->Clean...->Clean All
3) Wait for build to complete
4) Close and reopen the project
5) Open the VE, see if it now works.

To install, I recommend using the update manager. That way it will pick
up the correct stuff.
I recommend installing Eclipse 3.1 SDK, then use the update manager to
find new features, and select the VE 1.1.0 feature, hit the "Select
required" button, then install VE 1.1.0.
After VE 1.1.0 is installed then use the update manager to scan for
updates of the VE. It will find the new just released VE 1.1.0.1 driver.
By doing this you know all is correctly installed.
