Everytime I do righclick->profile as->open profile dialog Eclipse crashes.
It isn't instantaneous I can see profile dialog but after a few seconds it
dies without any message.

I'm using Eclipse 3.3, jre1.6.0_02 and windows xp sp2.

Any suggestion?

Hi, Oscar,

> I'm using Eclipse 3.3, jre1.6.0_02 and windows xp sp2.

According to other posts here, TPTP 4.4 isn't ready for Java 1.6.

The committers' responses to such queries have been the same: revert to
Java 1.5.

Hi Oscar,
Yes, this does appear to be a Java 6 issue. Although we do not official
support Java 6, please open a Bugzilla defect for the problem, specifying
your configuration.

Hi Oscar,
I would recommend re-installing TPTP and its dependencies on the
original machine. In the meantime, I will inquire with the Platform project
to see if this is a known symptom.

Hi Adam,
I would recommend confirming the JRE in C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.5.0_11 is
in fact a 1.5 JRE since it appears in the Eclipse .log as a 1.6.0_01. Also,
try re-installing TPTP and its dependencies on your machine. In the
meantime, I will inquire with the Platform project to see if this is a known
symptom.

Please make sure you are not reusing an old workspace. You can always
import existing projects into a new workspace and export/import old
settings from older eclipse installations, but you should always start
with a new workspace when switching to a new eclipse version.

There's a nice EclipseZone article about this here:
http://www.eclipsezone.com/eclipse/forums/t61566.html

Hope this helps,

Adam,

Your error messages indicate that you haven't successfully switched JREs:

> eclipse.buildId=I20070625-1500
> java.version=1.6.0_01
> java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.

Also, please be sure you are using a new workspace. You can always

Hi.

To make sure you start Eclipse with the JDK you target, you can launch
Eclipse with '-vm' option. eg. "eclipse.exe -vm c:\jdk1.5"
From the error you post, it seems like you may have an incomplete eclipse
workbench. Please make sure you download all zip required and posted on
our download page. You can download the all-in-one, or at a minimum
1)Eclipse 3.3, 2)EMF 2.3 and 3)All TPTP plugin Runtime.
Try also with a fresh workspace as Joe suggested.
