In screenshots of CAS' TeamCRM solution one can see alternating row colors
on all tables.

Can you provide a hint how this is done ?
With theming, setting colors on each row or with custom widgets ?

As far as I know, this is done by a slight modification of the Table as
demonstrated in bug 235092 [1]. This bug requests theme support for
alternating row colors and the patches will hopefully make it into CVS soon.
