question regarding datapools [message #98649] Tue, 15 May 2007 10:05 Go to next message

Hi,
I would like to tun the same test (that I created using the AGR), but with
different selections.
For example build the same project on diffrent configurations.
I thought I could do this using datapools but as far as I understood the
datapool is good only when user enters text. Am I correct?
Is there a convenient way to cause a test, created with AGR, run with
different selections?

Thanks

Thanks for your question. Datapools can be used with the AGR and other test
types to substitute values for different test variables. The data in a
datapool can take on various types such as String, double, int etc. However,
the datapools cannot substitute for different widget selections at this
time.

One way to accomplish what you describe is to break your test suite down
into small parts and then reuse as many of the test invocations as possible
between the two cases. If the two cases involve completely separate
selections then you will need to record these test cases independently.

I hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions.

Sincerely,

Liz Dancy

Hi,
If I break the test to smaller test cases as you suggested, I should
actually run this set of tests in a loop. How can I do that?
And a more general question, is there a good documentation for the TPTP,
and espacially AGR, apart from the AGR Introduction document?

Thanks
