Autoscroll when moving (dragging) objects [message #97647] Tue, 07 October 2003 08:56 Go to next message

Hi!

Our editor doesn't scroll when we move/drag an object out of its visible
range. Only the scrollbars are modified. Is it possible to move the visible
area (autoscroll) according to the new position?

Ok, got it. It works partially (not the usual Windows way). I opened a
bugzilla to track further improvements.

Maybe you should check windows behavior again? Try dragging a folder inside
the tree of the Windows Explorer.

Yes, I noticed. But have you checked Word? They have a similar behavior but
the region where auto-scrolling starts is a bit lager than the one in the
GEF viewer and it starts as soon as you enter this region. In GEF you have
to wait a little bit in that region. Also scrollings gets faster the closer
you get to the border.

PMFYI

AFAIK Word has its own Mangement for that behaviour and does not rely on
Windows behaviour.
