Error in compailing shared object project [message #808127]

I am very new to eclipse aw well as ubuntu.

I created a project in eclipse CDT/Ubuntu. When I try to compile the project I am getting the following error

"relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC"

Please help me
