Hello.

I have been using eclipse for a couple of months now and decided to explore
the VE plugin.
I have problems getting the VE plugin to work with 3.1.
I have it working with 3.0 but not 3.1.

Here's the background. I originally started with 3.0.
It was unzipped into d:\eclipse.
I renamed it to d:\eclipse3p0
It worked fine.
I then wanted to run with the latest JRE and felt I needed ecliipse 3.1.
So unzipped 3.1 into d:\eclipse and renamed to d:\eclipse3p1.
I worked for a month with this and then decided to try and get the VE plugin
working.

Used the plugin manager to download all the latest and tried running VE and
encountered errors.
Decided to install the VE plugin into eclipse 3.0 and it works.

Then I started reading the posts on this and saw it is possible to run VE
with 3.1 but realized I didn't have the RC2 version. I did try and install
Gef 3.1RC1, emf I200506091102, VE 1.1m2 with 3.1 but it had similar errors
as before. Thus I figured I had to have 3.1RC2 or better.

I thought I'd give 3.1RC3 a try. Should this work?
unzipped to Eclipse, unzipped the Gef 3.1RC1, emf I200506091102, VE 1.1m2
into the eclipse install directory. Then did the update add new features
and installed lot of EMF and GEF plugins.

Here's the error.
An internal error occurred during: "Create Remote VM for Visual Editor for
Java".

Here's the beginning of the Error log.
I have not included the whole thing since each time I play the log gets
longer.

You cannot use update manager to install EMF, VE, or GEF updates on top
of the development drivers. The update manager is only for released
code. Until then you need to use downloads.

Look at the VE download page for what will work with VE1.1M2. You need
at least that. M2 was not tested with anything later than what it says
it works on, but it probably will work. If not, then you need to step up
to the latest integration build of VE and the drivers of GEF, EMF, and
Eclipse that it requires.

The required levels are listed right on the download page itself on the
large "Requirements" banner.
