Ganymede missing javadoc [message #8388] Tue, 13 May 2008 17:44 Go to next message

In the past I used Europa plus stuff I added I suppose. Recently I
installed Ganymede M6 J2EE and I find it missing pretty much all of the
javadoc I need. I made a little progress through a bizarre ritual of
clicking on the plugin navigator, selecting a plugin that I wanted to
know more about, then right click Import As Binary Linked Project. Not
only was this tiresome after the first couple of times, but it also does
not work except by luck.

Is this just a consequence of pre-release or something I have/haven't done?

Thanks,
John.

Could you please be more precise, e.g. which docs you are missing and is it
still missing with the Ganymede M7 build?

And if there is something missing, please open a bugreport against the
package. We tried to make this process easier: Go to the new download site
for the packages: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/ and click on
the 'more...' link of the package. In the detailed description of the
package, you can find a link in the bottom right corner: 'File a Bug on
this Package'.

Well, milestone and release candidate builds _are_ stable and tested, but
one reason for having milestone builds is early feedback. And getting early
feedback about the quality (here about missing docs) allows us to improve
the quality of the release. So, thanks to everybody to test and report
issues.

Thanks
Markus

eg javax.servlet.ServletConfig

Do I have to reinstall to get M7? If I try updates it says none.

I wonder if my problems are related to
http://wiki.eclipse.org/PDEBuild/Individual_Source_Bundles
That page tells 3.4 developers how to do something new with source. Is
there a corresponding page telling 3.4 users how to get the source now?

Thanks,
John.
