Java 1.7 compiler compliance not visible/enabled in Indigo Classic [message #790891] Sat, 04 February 2012 20:13 Go to next message

index.php/fa/7022/0/index.php/fa/7021/0/index.php/fa/7021/0/I'm running Java SE 1.7 on Linux Mint 12, which - in terms of both JRE and JDK - is configured correctly. I tested this using a switch statement with a string parameter, which both compiled and ran, a feature that is only available from J2SE1.7.
Never the less, on Eclipse Indigo, if I go to "Preferences > Java > Compiler > JDK Compliance > Compiler Compliance Level", the only offerings are 1.3 to 1.6., despite "Preferences > Java > Installed JREs" giving jdk1.7.
In my Windows environment, this code compiles and runs fine in Eclipse, and of course hence 1.7 is visible on the "Compiler Compliance" list.
Does anyone hence have any idea how to explicitly enable Java 1.7 in "Compiler Compliance"?

Cheers
Tristan R.

Did you check the "jre7" on the "Preferences > Java > Installed JREs" ?

Are you using Indigo SR1? Support for Java 1.7 was added only in Indigo SR1 and not in Indigo.
