org.xml.sax.SAXParseException when trying to profile a BIRT application using TPTP. [message #90186]

Hello All,

I am new to TPTP and I wanted to use this to profile a BIRT standalone
application (ReportRunner)

I used the update manager and installed TPTP. I am using TPTP (version
4.2 and some components in tptp are 4.1 also) and BIRT 2.1.1 source and
running the standalone ReportRunner program. Eclipse version is 3.2 and
this is on windows 2k.

The program renders a report design and it works fine when I try to run
this in eclipse using the Run or the Debug option. But when I profile it
using TPTP, I get exception that BIRT isnt able to parse the design
file.. and the reason is because of this error below.

Caused by: Error.DesignFileException.INVALID_XML - 1 errors found!
1.) ( line = 8) org.xml.sax.SAXParseException (message :
java.lang.NullPointerException)

Is this something related to a classpath/classloader issue ?

I have searched on the eclipse newsgroup but didnt find specific
information to solve this issue. Has anyone on this list used TPTP to
profile a BIRT application ? I'd appreciate any help/pointers.

I did post this problem on the BIRT newsgroup but have not received any
response and since it is related to TPTP interaction, I am posting this
problem here. Apologies if this isnt the right forum.

FWIW, I can profile a simple java program OK with TPTP, problem is only
when I try to profile an application that uses BIRT api's

Any ideas ?
