There is a really annoying bug in the Eclipse M2 Maven integration plugin:
Sometimes (to very often) the M2 plugin hangs forever on "Updating Maven Dependencies". The way to get out of this, ist to kill Eclipse! All unsaved changes are lost!
As nobody is working on this bug since summer 2011, I would suggest to register on sonatypes Jira Issure tracking system, and upvote the bug. There are only 3 Votes up to now, but I think it really should be solved:

Please support us M2 users to get a fix for this really annoying problem. Everything you need to do is to register and vote for this bug.
