How do I setup Apache Velocity in Eclipse? [message #778289] Thu, 12 January 2012 02:47
Eclipse UserFriend
My situation is, I know a bit Java, actually I created a small game using J2ME + Eclipse + Nokia SDK several years ago.

Now I would like to learn about dynamic web site. I know nothing about J2EE, JSP, JSF, Struts, Maven, Spring etc. Those terms look like aliens to me.

I read Velocity is better than JSP, and if I am not wrong, Velocity does not need J2EE, so I want to skip JSP and go ahead to learn Velocity first.

I already setup Tomcat, and Eclipse, and following some tutorials I can get Tomcat start and working.

But I found most information are about how to develop using Velocity, but nothing about the development environment setup. I am getting lost and don't know how to setup Velocity, without the appropriate setup, I cannot learn from the resource on Internet.

Could someone advise how to setup Velocity in Eclipse?

Thank you.
