I've read the stickies and looked around the best I know how.

I get the following error on Eclipse startup:

Message:
Invalid preference page path: XML Syntax

Plug-in:
org.eclipse.ui

Details:
Exception Stack trace:
An exception stack trace is not available.

Session Data:
eclipse.buildId=M20110909-1335
java.version=1.7.0_02
java.vendor=Oracle Corporation
BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86_64, WS=win32, NL=en_US
Command-line arguments: -os win32 -ws win32 -arch x86_64

I have the latest Eclipse Classic installed on Win7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Anyone out there who can help me get this fixed, so I can get to learning/working?

Thanks in advance! (Apologize if this is a noob question.)

Have you tried installing any new plug-ins ?
Seems to be issue with the preference pages.

Try starting the eclipse with -clean option.

cheers,
Saurav

Had this problem, I see multiple questions unanswered on this topic:

MESSAGE Invalid preference page path: XML Syntax

Easy fix....

I was able to fix it by creating a new workspace and then importing my project into it. If you had an original installation of Eclipse, then downloaded a new eclipse, readded all your android, ect. into it, you might get this error. Probably has to do with the XML with different keys from the old version in your hidden files in your workspace!
