Jars in EAR not Showing [message #759655] Tue, 29 November 2011 14:11 Go to next message

We have a very weird problem and hoped someone could help us and explain what is happening.

For our server we created an EAR project and some EJB, EJBClient, etc. projects with the wizard. Now we want to just add same JARs to the EAR to be used by all the server side projects. We tried adding them to "earContent/lib", we tried creating a new folder and adding it to the "application.xml", we even tried renaming an already functional EAR project - nothing works. The jar files are not shown in all of the other projects.

Now there seems to be some kind of filter for the projects shown of the EAR (e.g. EJB projects are only able to see utility projects, while EJBClient is able to see everything), so we were wondering if some kind of filter is what is hiding the JARs. All tutorials and help sites seem to indicate we aren't doing anything wrong.

Could anyone please tell us what is happening?

Someone figured it out: On the project "Preferences -> Deployment Assembly" you have to add all the libs manually to the manifest entries (I have still no clue why it wouldn't work when we manually added it to the "MANIFEST.MF"). Seems like a bug, but at least it works for now.
