Is the Show Annotations functions when using the PDT editor and EGit expected to work?

I'm running Eclipse SDK 3.7.1 M20110909-1335, PDT 3.0.0.v20110516 and Eclipse EGit 1.1.0.201109151100-r.

Normally, I display line numbers. When I select Show Annotations, a gap appears between the blue vertical bar (where breakpoints usually are) and the line numbers, but it only seems to be a character wide, and shows no information.

When I right click in that area, the Revisions options have Combined Coloring, Show Author and Show Id.

I did see that EGit is supposed to have blame functionality working, as of 1.0.0, but I wasn't sure if something needed to happen in the PDT editor to enable it.

Regards
