Hi community.
I have a beginner question. I am about to start creating a new tool that shall load UML model in XMI as an input and then process it on the meta-model level.
What is the right way of doing this from the architectural point of view?
Should it be a plugin using EMF or fragment to EMF?
Is there any good tutorial on how to create such plugins?
Thanks,
Piotrek

What does shell load mean?

As opposed to the model- or instance-level? I'm not sure what that
means either...

I imagine anything you want to do you'd generally do as your own plug-in.

Sure there are lots of tutorials available at Eclipse but your question
about creating a plugin is a basic platform one, not EMF specific and if
you have questions specifically about UML2 (which you don't yet) use
eclipse.modeling.mdt.uml2.
