I am having a very annoying problem with CDT. Somehow, I have gotten my workspace into a state where the PathEntry Marker job never finishes (I have allowed it almost 48 hours to complete). Because the job never finishes, I cannot build, shut down eclipse, refresh the workespace, or close projects.
Today, I completely reinstalled eclipse and completely recreated my workspace from scratch. This fixed the problem, but unfortunately, whatever caused it has occured again.
I would really appreciate help addressing this problem. Answers that would help:
1) What does the pathentry marker job do and how can I either disable it or speed it up?
2) When the job is stuck, is there anyway to diagnose why it is apparently blocked?
The only other post I have found suggested disabling the indexer, shutting down and restarting eclipse. This does not work for me. Eclipse never shuts down gracefully even if I cancel the pending PathEntry job. I have to kill eclipse.
I am using Indigo 3.7.1 on Linux.
