[Wikitext] Asciidoc support? [message #751850] Wed, 26 October 2011 03:22 Go to next message

Hi,

are there any plans to extend the list of supported markup languages. I really would like to see ASCIIDOC ([1]) supported.
I would like to try to implement it myself. Is there any documentation out there how to write a new MarkupLangualge implementation, despite the javadoc and example code?

thanks and best regards
Hannes

Hannes,

We have no immediate plans to add markup languages, though we're quite
happy to accept contributions that do. An example is Markdown support,
which is being tracked on
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=329528

The best place to start when adding a new markup language is with the
WikiText Developer Guide, specifically the section on Markup Languages:
http://help.eclipse.org/indigo/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.help.ui/help/devguide/Markup-Languages.html
Also have a look at TextileLanguage, and TextileLanguageTest which are
great examples of how to get started.

Feel free to file a bug and track your contribution there.

David

Asciidoc is now supported, under Wikitext Extras, a Mylyn project.

To use it, install Mylyn Wikitext Extras, from http://download.eclipse.org/mylyn/snapshots/nightly/docs/

see: Mylyn wikitext - asciidoc support
see: bug 418563 - support for asciidoc

The Wikitext>Asciidoc support is improving little by little.
