Positioning label [message #83229] Wed, 11 June 2003 09:15 Go to next message

Hi,

I have a beginner's question: I need to create a Figure, which paints a
label in its area; but I want to reserve a portion of the Figure
(proportional to its width) for graphics and place the label next to the
reserved area.
How to do that cleanly ?

Thanks,
-Svata

More precisely, a figure that contains a org.eclipse.draw2d.Label as a
child figure :) Just painting a text is trivial.

Instead of having a Label for text AND an area for graphics, have you
considered using a Label that contains an icon? Calling
Label#setIconAlignment could then align the icon to your liking.

I want to devote e.g. one fourth (up to some fixed maximum) of the
Figure's actual width to the graphics. I am not sure whether I can do
that with an icon.
