need comparision info / suggestions for research on GUI builders [message #81980]

My group is converting from Swing to SWT. We are also going to standardize
on Eclipse as our IDE and possibly move all of our client development to the
RCP paradigm.

I have been asked to investigate a number of GUI "builder" tools that we
might leverage for SWT and RCP development.

1) can anyone suggest GUI builder tools that we can look at?
2) how does VE compare with the other tools that are available right now?
3) are there interesting things in store for VE that we can look forward
too?
4) is there a "feature matrix" available that does a comparison on VE with
other GUI builder tools?
5) are there any "goth-as" that we need to be aware of if we choose VE?

thx for any suggestions, info, war stories or resources.

VE for v1.1 is focusing on performance and significant SWT/RCP based
development support. We are planning to post on the VE downoads a VE1.1
(Eclipse 3.1 based) integration build today, and a stable build at the
end of the week.

A M1 VE will come around the Eclipse M6 milestone.
