Hi all,

just wanted to state my support for the M2M project, and
the approach taken in it.

I think it is essential that we'll quickly get a working
implementation of M2M, and therefore it is a good idea to
use the existing (and proven!) ATL language as a starting
point.

I think we all agree that we'd like to see a "real" QVT
implementation at some point (so we can say that we're
"standards-compliant" :-)), but a pragmatic solution that's
available soon is even more important.

By the way: Arno, Sven and I had prepared an introduction
to M2M, as well as a comparison of several M2M languages
for the W-JAX conference two weeks ago in Munich. It compares
various languages, among them the two QVT's, and ATL. If
you're interested, you can get the slides from:

Cheers,
Markus

Hi all,

this post just to mention that I fully agree with Markus and to give our
support for this initiative.
Just for information, in Ecole Centrale de Lille (french engineering school
located in north of France, we use ATL for both teaching and research
purposes.
Teaching : to illustrate concretely MDA and MDE approaches in our last year
programme in software engineering but also in one of our research master
Research : in the framework of the INTEROP Network of Excellence, we are
using ATL to experiment transformations of entreprise models in the Task
Group 2 dealing with "Model Driven Interoperablity"
best regards
