Hello to you all!
I'll start up by saying, that i'm new here.
I'm taking a class on University, where we're supposed to use Adobe Flash Builder for developing Flash. However, being a linux man, it pains me to use proprietary software, so i found another way. Allmost.
And that way is Eclipse with the Flash Builder Plugin.
It looks pretty good so far - i managed to install the plugin and the newest Flex SDK.
I am able to import a project, and run it with a perfect result in my browser.
All the flash specifik codes and stuff are the right color as well.
However, i cannot use the debug mode!
It opens the project in my browser just fine, but the console never displays anything.
Theres a little icon and slide in the lower left corner, that says 'launching', but it's stuck at 57 percent. And after a minute or two, i get following message:
The Flash Builder debugger failed to connect to the running application.
Ensure that:
1. For in-browser applications, you are running the debugger version of Flash Player.
2. For debugging on a mobile device, you have a reliable WiFi connection to the device, and port 7935 is open on your machine's firewall.
Device connection help
Eclipse is set to using Flash Player Debugger, and i'm not trying to debug a mobile device, so what's the deal??
This is most annoying, and i hate having to boot into windows whenever i need to do some programming
Any suggestions most welcome and appreciated
Regards
Esben

I doubt anyone will answer here. A more sure way would be to ask in a
Flex forum, perhaps one dedicated to the AFB plug-in. This is built on
Eclipse, but it's not "Eclipse" if you get my drift.
