Re-appearing sub-projects [message #726400] |

Using Eclipse Europa 3.3.2, WinXP. We have a persistent problem with folders appearing automagically.
1) Had a pristine set of projects. Single workspace with 9 small projects. Perform a clean all with no build, exit Eclipse, commit top level project and all subs to SVN. (We create folders in Eclipse projects and use links to files scattered in different folders on the machine. The Workspace is parallel to the Project.)
Remote to another machine.
2 ) Delete the local projects folder. Get a fresh set. Start Eclipse.
Two new folders appear in the first project and in the projects folder on the machine. (These folders were once part of the projects.) They are no longer part of any project and do not exist on the machine filesystem. This happens on multiple projects, workspaces and machines.
Close Eclipse
3) Delete the projects folder again. Get a fresh set. Delete the Workspace folder. Start eclipse.
Eclipse recreates the Workspace by itself. I import all these projects. The same two new folders appear in the first project and in the projects folder.
These folder names do exist in the .project or .cproject files. They are not empty folders in the project space on the machine. Where did they come from?
I think that both are portable with the project and can be archived on subversion and used for the same project on any machine. Is this not true?
