Olof,
I recommend the "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers" - it has some extra
nice features already installed.
Dani,
I'm curious why you'd recommend the Classic build instead of the IDE For
Java Developers package? Clearly this user has no interest in the PDE or
platform source code that's included in Classic, and it seems likely
that such a user *would* find value in the things that are in the Java
Developers package, like Window Buidler, XML tooling, Mylyn, etc. Am I
missing something?

He asked for Java and you can do just fine Java programming without any
of the things you just listed and it's not my job to guess what he would
find value in ;-).
