I am completely new to Eclipse and Java. I would like to open a project I previously created and then moved to a another workspace. When I start Eclipse and I go to the menu Project>>Open Project it is greyed out and I cannot find and open any project. This happens when I have just started the program

You need to import the project. Use File->Import and look for Existing Project entry.

Ok great thank you. I did what you said and it worked but I got the following warning in the status bar and the output window:
There are no JREs installed in the workspace that are strictly compatible with this environment.
