Hi!

I downloaded the Eclipse Classic, 32bits, for Linux, and it don't have the menus (Like the "Help" menu, which I need to install new software).

When I right-click and go to "Customize Perspective", the menus are checked to show, but they're just not showing.

Any idea how to show up this menus? (I'm running on Ubuntu 10.10)

Are you using the new Unity desktop? It's known to do things to
application menues.

Have you installed the Oracle JDK and configured Eclipse to use it, as
described in the "Linux + Eclipse" sticky topic at the top of this forum
group?

Are you using the AppMenu (also called Global Menu)? There is a problem with the AppMenu and Eclipse. You can get around it by setting an environment variable in a shell script prior to starting Eclipse.

Set UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0.

You didn't answer the question I asked. Perhaps one has a correct
eclipse.ini and the other doesn't - I can't say, but at least you could
check what I suggested.
