Hello Everyone,

I'm new to BIRT and my first project requires an aggregation of columns. If I have a data set with columns "Item Cost" "Level 1 Markup" "Level 2 Markup" and "Level 3 Markup" how can I multiply "Item Cost" and "Level 1 Markup" in a new column? after I do this I need to Multiply the new column by the "level 2 markup" in another new column. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rory,

You can do this by adding computed columns to the dataset or adding
columns to the table bindings. Look at the attached example that shows
both methods. Table one uses the dataset computed columns and table two
uses the new bindings for the table report item,

Thank You Jason! Sorry for the simple questions, I'm trying to read through the Birt: Afield Guide to Reporting Book, but I'm a finance guy and I'm trying to get used to writing reports with sql and this BIRT software so thanks for bearing with me. Are there any classes or seminars related the BIRT software?

Rory,

BIRT Exchange has webinars on various features and a lot examples in the
dev share. You may want to look at:
