While there this be announced via all the normal channels, I wanted to
also give notice here, directly to this "user forum" as well.

The Tools PMC has proposed the VE project be archived. If interested,
please read the proposal attached to bug 346887

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=346887

There's certainly nothing "wrong" with VE, or the committers that have
been involved and the great work that has been done ... so, much thanks
to all of them ... but it has been inactive for a long time, so deserves
a review that questions if it should continue. Please comment in the bug
if anyone has a counter proposal to revitalize the project (which means,
if not clear, that you would be proposing to do something ... not
proposing that someone else do something).

Again, just wanted to give some formal notice here, since it has been
occasionally discussed/questioned on this list, and didn't want anyone
to be surprised.

Much thanks,

This review has concluded with no objections and no counter proposals.
Therefore we will proceed to the next steps of archive the project.
These steps are detailed in bug 346887.

I would like to thank not only the current and past committers and
project leads for producing VE, but also all of you in the community
that used it!

It may seem unfortunate its not continuing, but for projects to come and
go is pretty natural, especially in the Open Source world.

Much thanks, best of luck!
