Synchronize Task List fails with "Error writing task data" [message #667247]

I have been using Jira based tasks for some time now, and for some reason that stopped working today with a cryptic error message "Error writing task data". Any clues where I can look to track this down would be appreciated.

After blasting all of the mylyn metadata, I have been able to setup a new query and get it working again. Seems like this should not be necessary.
