Hi All,

I'm very green so please pardon any apparent ignorance. I've downloaded the Java IDE and C++ IDE but neither will unzip. When I reach the second stage of the unzip wizard the computer will freeze, the desktop loses all icons and the task bar - even cntrl+alt+del fails is impotent - the task manager will appear but nothing works.

I am using an Acer TravelMate 6460 running XP professional SP 3. I've downloaed JDK1.6.0_24 from Oracle and can compile programs using the command prompt. I just can't get anything from the eclipse web site to unzip without crashing the computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve.

Are you trying to use the Windows built-in ZIP utility? It has known
problems with large ZIP files and/or those containing deeply nested
directories. I suggest using one of the many free ZIP utilities instead,
such as 7-zip, Power Archiver, etc.
