Hi,

I'm using the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
Version: Helios Service Release 1
on
a 10.04 Ubuntu (64 bit)

when I press Shift-F2 I get the documentation opened in a simple editor window without navigation bar - like this.

what I would like to have is an internal browser window with a navigation bar - like this

What is the "normal" behavior when shift-F2 is pressed and internal Browser is selected in the options to be displayed ?

greetings

The intent is to show the Javadoc and hence there won't be a navigation
bar. There is no setting to change that other than switching to the
external browser (General > Web Browser preference page).

Yes, but how do you go back when have followed a few links in the JavaDoc ? Without a navigation bar, especially the "go back arrow", this view doesn't look very useful to me. There is a full functional internal browser window included in my version of eclipse, so why not use this instead ? In this tutorial it looks like you can have exactly that. Perhaps there is some hidden option or it is a version thing.

Right click in the view should show a popup which has Back and Forward.

Thanks for the hint, I have heard that before but it does not work on my system.

It is not a major disturbance since I can use the external browser for the intended purpose. There is no real need for a fix, I just wonder if it is only me experiencing such behavior or is there other Ubuntu Eclipse users that can verify my observation.

greetings
