eclipse doesn't construct web app correctly [message #662544]

When I create a new servlet/jsp application in eclipse, export a WAR, and upload it to my server, i ALWAYS get an error because eclipse does not put my class files in WEB-INF/classes. Additionally, there is no web.xml file in the whole application either.

How do I fix this?
