Is there an easy way to upgrade from Classic to EE? [message #662478] Wed, 30 March 2011 18:31 Go to next message

I installed Eclipse 3.6.1 Classic a while ago and have since added software for Android, EGit, etc. Some new software I'm interested in (App Engine) recommends using Eclipse EE.

Is there an easy way to add all of the packages that are included in EE but not in Classic, or do I have to select each package individually? I found this comparison table (although the full version seems not to include Classic).

Or should I just ignore the installation advice and install packages only as needed?

Thanks.

Yes, using the Help->Install New Software you can pull in whatever
features you want from the Helios repository. I use App Engine but I
install only the XML tools, not the full EE package. As needed should
be fine...
