Mylyn extras site down? [message #660312] Thu, 17 March 2011 15:23 Go to next message

Hi,

I am trying to install Atlassian Connector for JIRA, but installation hangs forever. Atlassian's wiki says that this could be caused by Mylyn Extras not being available. Indeed, if I try to browse it through Eclipse update tool it complains that http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/extras can't be reached. Is the site really down or is this a bug with the update tool? (eg. wrong URL)

I am using Helios SR2 on Linux x86_64.

TIA

Andre

The extras site was removed a while ago when the JIRA connector moved to
Atlassian. It sounds like their documentation is outdated as the update site
is now hosted on Atlassian's servers:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/Extensions#Atlassian_JIRA_.28b y_Atlassian_Connector_for_Eclipse.29

You can safely remove http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/extras
from the list of update sites.

Hi Steffen,

thks for the repliy. Indeed, it seems their documentation is outdated.

Anyway, removing the reference to Mylyn Extras was not enough (dependencies check was still freezing). Looking a little further I found this reference to a problem with P2 caching. Even though it's dated 2009, I was out of options so also I removed all existing references to Atlassian update sites, and re-added only the one for Helios. After that I finally managed to install the plugin.

Thks for your help.

Regards,

Andre
