Hi,

I have seen, that via Data management > connectivity > driver definitions it is possible to define a connection to your database, but I found no place where one can use this connection (no repository connector, no information unit). Are this just there as infrastructure for someone who wants to implement a new repository connector or information unit to be able to use this connection, e.g. to define a new information unit that aggregates the result of a SQL query?

This preference page comes with the BIRT Designer and the underlying Data Tools Platform. Remus uses the BIRT Reporting Engine (you can additionally also install the BIRT Designer) to create reports based on the information units, see the article at http://www.richclient2.de/2009_11_23/building-reports-of-you r-local-information-pool-with-birt-and-remus/

This page is only if you want to add additional datasources to your report, that are connecting with so called "Connection templates" of DTP. Remus uses a plain ODA Driver, there is no Connection profile required.

Cheers
Tom
