I'm new to Eclipse and have so far been using an AVD to run my app. I know want to test some of the media options and so need to use my phone. How do I configure Eclipse to load my app to my phone?

Your question really belongs on the Android developer forums, not
Eclipse. But I can tell you that it works pretty easily if you plug in
the phone using the USB cable and enable USB Debugging in the phone's
settings.

Oddly, I have developed Android applications without every deploying to
a physical device (should hang my head in shame, but until long after I
stopped doing that sort of development, I didn't have an Android phone).

I made a couple of notes on doing it at the bottom of a document which
you're welcome to peruse. Maybe they'll confirm something or put you on
the right track.
