install all parts offline I have most parts done Missing (platform tools) [message #652615] Fri, 04 February 2011 12:41 Go to next message

I have been learning how to use this program at home and now Trying to do a little at work with a laptop that has no Internet connection. I have so far been able to install the SDK and one platform (2.2) When I try and make a new project Eclipse tells me that the aapt is missing and to look at (c:\program files\android\android-sdk-windows\platform tools\aapt.exe). I'm missing the (platform tools) folder all together. I have not yet found away to get this offline.
I also get a error that (R can not be resolved to a variable)

You're asking a lot. Better to take some time connected to the Internet
to get it right, then you can work disconnected.

Check out http://www.javahotchocolate.com/tutorials/android.html which
has a link to the best tutorial. If you can get through that while
connected, you're sure to be up and going.

Hope this helps.

Oh, yeah, that's a common problem (of perception only). Look at
http://www.javahotchocolate.com/tutorials/android.html#r-jav a
for the answer to that.

i think you cant do this, you need an internet connection in the first instance to install and download the different platforms then you need this connection in a "live "way to update.Ive been trying to do this off line you can install the eclipse program but you need an internet connection, not for the adt plug in,or sdk tools .

No got it working by downloading the parts I link to before and unzipping them to the required folder. As for the

R can not be resolved to a variable
I think I'm pass that as well. Created a new project with a NEW NAME and all is well. New name seemed to be the key. Even deleting the old project didn't seem to help.
