Hello All,
Hopefully this is the right place for this post. If not I apologize.

I am experiencing an interesting problem with the eclipse environment.

When I try to type:
import java.

The selection menu pops up and eclipse exits directly after rendering the menu...no warning, prompting, or any log entries in the .log file.

this is happening with:
eclipse-SDK-3.6.1-linux-gtk.tar.gz

On Slackware 13.1 (32bit) with java version 1.6.0

Has anyone seen this type of behavior before?

It's probably the same problem as mentioned in
http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?S=5b22a35888bb0855e9 b2d94870ac54c7&t=msg&th=203012

But I could not find a bug for this, please file a bug against
Platform/SWT with the steps to reproduce.

Symptom of corrupted installation---not necessarily bug

Do you know why/how this could be a symptom of a corrupted install? Eclipse seems to be the only package on my system that gives any error what-so-ever and considering it is not part of the original distribution and written almost entirely in java (which doesn't come with slackware either) I would think there aren't too many dependencies on the actual 'system' rather the eclipse package dependencies, now Of course the 'packages' are dependent on the 'system' but, if the system was corrupt I would suspect to see this behavior from other programs, which is not the case. If you have more in site into your suggestion I would be interested to hear.

Looks like eclipse has this issue, my bug report got marked as a dup to this one.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=317383

Although, I am SURE other slackware 13.1 users are running eclipse just fine...so perhaps it could be my system.

EDIT: changed 'I' to 'it'
