I wonder if it's possible to use the DTP modelbase as my model (Query, Database, Table, Column, etc.), or do I have to use my own model?

I think the DTP Ecore models are reusable.
you should have a look to org.eclipse.datatools.modelbase.sql/model/sqlmodel.ecore
