Sending email with attachment using default email client [message #649999] Fri, 21 January 2011 11:46 Go to next message

Hi ALL,

Is there any way to identify the default email client and then send an
email (with attachment) using this email client ? I was pretty much able
to do this using OLE. But I'd to hardcode the OLE identifier, like in
case of Outlook the ole identifier is "Outlook.Application". If I have
thunderbird or some other email client, then OLE code will be very much
dependent on the ole identifier of this email client, which I don't want.

Any pointer or thoughts on this ?

Regards,
Swapnil

Hi Swapnil,

swt doesn't have support for this. I thought a feature request was logged
for this in the past (at least the first part of opening an email app), but
I can't find it now, so if you want you can log one at
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=Platform &component=SWT&bug_severity=enhancement .
