Hello,

today I tried to setup Gemini JPA M3 against EclipseLink 2.2.0 RC3.

Unfortunately this does not work because since SVN revision 8730 which shall resolve Bug332738 the class

org.eclipse.persistence.internal.jpa.deployment.PersistenceI nitializationHelper

was removed from EclipseLink Bundle org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.

Latest trunk of Gemini JPA still requires this class so either it was removed by accident or Gemini JPA did not adapt to the latest refactoring.

All candidates of EclipseLink are missing this class latest working version should be Milestone 6 (I will check that tomorrow). Currently I do not know whether to file a bug against Gemini or EclipseLink.

Regards
David

Hello,

I'm starting with EclipseLink and Gemini and hope to use it in my enterprise application soon.

Should I wait for a fix or use an older version of EclipseLink?

greetings,
Muki

Hi,

I just wanted to inform that a bug has been created for Gemini see:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=334883

Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

By the way does anybody know which latest milestone of EclipseLink works properly against Gemini 1.0.0 M3?

David,

Thanks very much for tracking this issue.

Muki,

As David mentioned, this problem has been fixed in the trunk but because we are targeting EclipseLink 2.2 we will be putting out another milestone build on the way to our official release in March. If you are comfortable using the trunk then of course feel free to do so, otherwise you can either use M3 with EclipseLink 2.1.2 or wait until the end of the week when we will release M4 that will require 2.2.

Thanks,
-Mike

Hi Mike,

I checked out the trunk. Works perfectly. Thanks for the quick fix. I hope I can give some testing reports.

I tried and got EclipseLink M5 running with Gemini RC3.
