When I create a new Project with the Android plugin, sometimes I am able to use the grapical layout's drag and drop, but most times I cannot. Is there a workaround for this? I cannot get an error when trying to either so I am not too sure what is causing it.
I am using Eclipse on Mac OS X 10.6.5

A better place would be one of the support forums listed here:

My own opinion is that the graphical layout tool is a bit squirrelly and
direct editing of the XML is better. However, if you're new to it, it's
nice at first to visualize things. Another tool to help you do that is
DroidDraw at http://www.droiddraw.org/ It's not a very stable tool, but
if you play with it, you'll begin to understand a lot about the
different types of widgets, how they're represented in XML, and thus how
you can then wean yourself away to straight XML code which is perfectly
stable (always works).
Hope this helps,

In addition to those suggestions, I'll point out that the "preview" of
the new Android plugins (version 9) has added a lot of capability to the
visual GUI editor. I've installed it on Eclipse Helios (3.6.x) on Mac
and it works well, no crashes or anything like that.
You can get it here: http://tools.android.com/download
