Which snippet? Is the shell locking up (i.e. some kind of loop)?

The Grid will do some not insignificant work during each mouse move
event to support mouse hover effects within cells and the header.
Though this code could probably be better optimized (redrawing only
certain areas) this has not been problematic.

Can you better explain what you're seeing?
