Hello,

I started using Exlipse 3.5.2 to draw UML models,
but have some problems with associations.

How can I draw just a simple association
between two classes with one open arrow.

E.g. The Association between Client and AbstractFactory,
shown in the first figure at:

http://www.tjung.lima-city.de/uml2/association/

should become a simple line with an open arrow,
similar to the one in figure 2 (red ellipse)

How can I achive such a task?

T.

Hello Thomas,

what editor are you using?
I don't know exactly where the association in your example comes from but what about navigable association?
For me this works with the class diagram editor (*.umlclass). But it is blue.
Do you have a problem with the color of the arrow?

Cheers,
Tom

Thomas,

This newsgroup is about UML2, the library/API for programmatically creating and reading UML models.

You will have better luck by asking this question on the forum corresponding to your graphical modeling tool (Papyrus, "UML2 Tools", etc).

Cheers,

Rafael

Associations in UML editors are always working the same way.
Usually two way of creating associations:
- Click on the association icon in the palette, then move your mouse to the class and click again then move your mouse again to the target class and click again.
- Click on the class and select the outgoing small arrow usually in the back right of the class shape, then click on the link, and drop the link with the mouse to the targetted class and click again.

Association are created using the mouse with the left click to select and the right click to complete the operation.
Hope this help.
