I build an eclipse product, just sitting updating it to eclipse 3.6.1, when a user notified me that he created the "dropins" folder put plugins there restarted and nothing got installed.
Searching around i found: http://eclipser-blog.blogspot.com/2010/01/dropins-diagnosis. html great..did this but it doesn't give me one debug statement even in my product. Nor does it install anything.
Tried it in the eclipse 3.6.1 sdk works like a charm. I assume i am missing plugins in my product to have this functionality?
I got the " org.eclipse.equinox.p2.reconciler.dropins_1.1.0.v20100525.ja r " plugin in my product but still nothing happends when i put plugins in the dropins folder.
I really want the users to use my p2 site for updates, but some users are more advanced eclipse users and want this functionality to test and suggest new plugins in the product.
ideas what i am missing?
