Any way to tune package/projects views focusing behaviour? [message #629037] Sun, 26 September 2010 11:50

Hi!

Is it possible to configure package/project explorer views to:

1. filter content (i.e. show only 'interesting' resources), but not to
link editor with these views?
Currently whenever I switch to another opened file - package explorer
view scrolls to another file. It is really distracting when you have
10-12 files opened simultaneously and actively switch between them.

2. expand package/class tree until file/class is reached?
Currently these views expand tree until terminal node is reached
(methods, class fields, etc.). I'm used to think about my projects as a
collection of classes with behaviour, not as a huge collection of
methods. When I edit tens of classes, project tree is filled up with
fields and methods, and I'm completely lost in this pile in several
seconds. I don't have this problem when I see only 'classes' in project
tree.

And it's not only about me: several of my colleagues face similar
"project perception" problem and tend to switch view focusing off (which
is sadly half of the mylyn :) ).

Thanks!
