Disabling/removing the Index tab in plug-in help? [message #623973] Wed, 24 March 2010 12:22 Go to next message

I'm working on a help system built from DITA XML to Eclipse help using Eclipse 3.5.1 (Galileo).

We do not want to display the Index tab for the help system or include a keyword index.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to remove the index and hide or remove the Index tab?

There's a help system customization preference to turn off display of
the index tab.

See this topic in the Eclipse help (Ganymede release):
http://help.eclipse.org/galileo/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse .platform.doc.isv/guide/ua_help_setup_preferences.htm

The preference is the index_view preference. Turn it to false to remove
the index tab from displaying.

Thank you very much! That resolved the issue.

For the benefit of anyone else who comes along, the preference is actually indexView.

Thanks, Lee Anne!
This is exactly what we were looking for-- works like a charm. So nice to have a victory on Friday morning...
