Hi all,
EGF 0.2.5 for Helios is available.
EGF has implemented the concepts of factory components and executable patterns.
Factory components offer a simple activity workflow today.
In this version, the EMF generation was reversed and transformed into patterns in order to have a pattern-based EMF generation.
Beyond a test of scalibility, the interest is :
- to extend and create variants of EMF generation with a mechanism of pattern substitution,
- to be able to create generation variants managed by different teams and define new "standard" EMF generations for instance for a company,
- to combine different languages during a generation.
For the last point, the EGF infrastructure allows to call patterns written in different languages. For instance, Jet patterns can call Java patterns. If the pattern languages are limited to Jet and Java today, this list of [language] patterns is extensible.
The pattern-based EMF generation illustrates what can be done with EGF.

A simple test to start:
- on a genmodel, right-click + "Create EMF pattern"
- open the fcore file created
- right-click + Run on the factory component to execute the generation (fcore files are also executable)
- double-click on the invocations to navigate in the factory components
- Patterns are located in a viewpoint folder
