(as suggested*, reposting here)

If I show the history of a file (.classpath or some java source file)
and then right click a revision and select "Compare with Previous State", then in the compare editor, shift-tab does not work:

when the compare appears, the cursor is in the left pane. If I press TAB, the cursor goes to right pane. If I press TAB again, the focus goes to the toolbar.

Then If I press SHIFT-TAB, the cursor goes back to the right pane, but pressing SHIFT-TAB again makes no action. I should return to the left pane, I expect.

So: TAB in compare works, SHIFT-TAB does not work (not in either pane).

David,

It sounds like you're using the platform's basic compare framework and
JDT's extensions to it, not EMF's model-based extension to it. I've
added the platform's newsgroup to the "to" list of the reply; hopefully
someone else there will help. If searching the platform's bugzilla
doesn't turn up duplicates then open a bugzilla with the details needed
to reproduce this problem. I tried it on Windows and indeed, Shift-Tab
will not move focus back to the left pane as expected.
